Good Friday

It was a good Friday in Kelly's freelancing land.

GoNomad published another of my articles, a compilation of 10 book reviews featuring titles all penned by women travelers. It's called Girls on the Go.

Plus, I got word from the education department at the Loft (a local literary center), that all four of the course proposals I submitted for its summer youth programming were accepted.

Besides an SAT grammar and essay prep, I'll also be offering a class on travel writing for kids and a workshop on keeping a family travel journal for parents.

And I was also contacted by two area community education programs to offer courses in upcoming sessions.

All that, and I finally finished an article I've been working on for what feels like forever. Yippie. Time to log off and do something non-computer related!

Oh, I have to read that Bad Karma book. I too, have been an "eye roller" while on the road. Sometimes it's fun to travel recklessly. No schedule. No getting up early to be the first ones at the museums. And yes, rolling your eyes at other annoying backpackers. I say that, because I am sure that I have annoyed a person here or there while traveling!

Do you remember that annoying guy on the bus in Peru? We were driving through all that amazing scenery and the guy would not shut up about "The Truman Show" and all the other countries that he would like to visit some day. See? I have bad karma, too.

Congrats on all of your classes at the Loft. Hey, may be I will fly out to your part of the world someday and take a 1 day workshop with you! Cause ya know, 2 days in Minneapolis for your wedding was simply not enough;)

I do not remember annoying Peru man. Pity. It's always fun to poke at other travelers! Isn't that awful to say?!?!

I remember that group of people on our trip to Iguazu Falls, the ones that carried the customized mate bag with pockets and spaces for all the straws, thermoses and such.

Remember ... we so wanted them to offer us some and when they never did we took to making up songs about them.

Mah-te, mah-te man. I want to be a mah-te man.
